The Packers have been worried about the long-term health of second-year running back Johnathan Franklin, who suffered a neck injury in Week 12 of last season.
On Thursday, coach Mike McCarthy told reporters that Franklin's career in Green Bay was over.
Apparently, that neck injury, which has caused Franklin to stay off the field since he was hurt last season, is major enough for the Packers to let him go.
Said McCarthy: "He will not be back with us."
Sounds like we'll find out more information Friday.
McCarthy said Franklin's situation will be addressed tomorrow. ... That likely means he will retire or be waived injured.

Franklin was drafted in the fourth round in 2013, and during his one season, he rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.
"It's too bad he got hurt," Green Bay general Ted Thompson said in January. "He was doing a good job. Everything as advertised. He's got a nice game. He's very balanced, quick, heady and confident. No, he hasn't been a disappointment at all."
