These helmets may be a joke, but they should be real. (@ULCoachHud)

The Internet can be a dangerous place on April Fools' Day, as pranks are around every corner. We here at CBSSports.com aren't above pulling our own on the unsuspecting public ourselves.

Which is why we were highly skeptical when we saw this tweet from UL Lafayette coach Mark Hudspeth on Friday.

Now, neither Hudspeth or the school have confirmed it, but this is very likely a prank. We figure because it's April Fools' Day, and there was no build-up from the school regarding a new helmet. Typically you wouldn't see an overhaul like this without plenty of promotion of the new look that's coming.

So we're 99.9999 percent sure it's a hoax.

And that's too bad, because these helmets are freaking awesome. It would quickly climb the ranks of most popular helmets in the country. I mean, what's not to love about a giant crawfish on a helmet?

Do it, Ragin' Cajuns. Make this helmet real, for the good of college football.
