SEC media has correctly predicted the conference champ only five times in 23 years. (USATSI)

Bad news, Auburn fans, the media assembled for the 2015 SEC Media Days has predicted that you'll win the SEC this season. It may seem like an honor, but based on the record of these preseason media prognostications, it's probably time to look toward 2016.

The SEC media prediction has only been correct five times in the last 23 years, though the good news is that they nailed the Alabama prediction last season, so maybe they're heating up.

Here are the predictions in full (first-place votes in parentheses):

SEC East

1. Georgia (166)

2. Tennessee (36)

3. Missouri (20)

4. South Carolina (1)

5. Florida (1)

6. Kentucky (1)

7. Vanderbilt

SEC West

1. Alabama (92)

2. Auburn (108)

3. LSU (10)

4. Arkansas (6)

5. Ole Miss (3)

6. Texas A&M (4)

7. Mississippi State (2)

SEC champion Votes

1. Auburn, 96

2. Alabama, 80

3. Georgia, 28

4. LSU, 9

5. Ole Miss, 3

5. Arkansas, 3

7. Texas A&M, 2

7. Tennessee, 2

9. Mississippi State, 1

9. Florida, 1

You'll notice that while Alabama finished ahead of Auburn on the predicted order of finish in the West based on cumulative results, Auburn received 16 more first-place votes and had 16 more votes as champion.

Vanderbilt was the only school not to receive either a first-place vote, which means the Commodores are an absolute lock to win the conference. Congratulations, Vandy!
