Entering play on Tuesday Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty had not scored a power play goal all season. He finally scored one midway through the third period of their game against the Edmonton Oilers, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he wasn't even trying to score.

As Doughty approached the center red line, he fired a simple slap shot at the net that somehow snuck in under Oilers goalie Richard Bachman.

At the time the Kings were trailing, 3-1, with their season on the line, so it was a pretty huge goal to at least get them back into the game.

Unfortunately for the Kings, it wasn't enough, and now their playoff hopes are hanging by a thread.

With their loss in Edmonton, the Kings can be eliminated from playoff contention if the Calgary Flames beat them on Thursday.
