On Monday night Boston Bruins forward Seth Griffith did his best to make sure he put his name at the top of the list when it comes to potential goal of the year candidates when he scored this seemingly impossible goal against the New Jersey Devils to break a 2-2 tie late in the second period.

Wow. Did he get good bounce because Cory Schneider just flat out made a bad play on it? Sure. But who cares. That entire play is just silly.

After blocking a shot at the other end of the ice, Griffith split two New Jersey defenders at the blue line, somehow fought to maintain possession of the puck and then blindly put a backhand shot between his legs onto the net.

Here is a look at the play in its entirety.

The goal is Griffith's fourth of the season.
