Rick Nash has had pretty much no luck this postseason. None at all. He is shooting a mere 3.7 percent, well below his regular-season career average of 12.7. His latest attempt on net could have ended Game 5 and sent the Rangers back to New York for Game 6, but again, Rick Nash has had no luck.

The Rangers had been buzzing all overtime and in the top half of the second overtime period, Nash had a golden opportunity. With the entire net to shoot at as Kings goalie Jonathan Quick was sprawled out after making a save, Nash had the puck on his stick. He went to put it on net and it would have certainly gone in. Only Slava Voynov’s stick got there just in the nick of time. In the right place at the right time, Voynov deflected it away from the net.

Are you kidding me?

Millimeters and nanoseconds could have changed the entire outlook of that play, but Rick Nash has the worst snakebite you may ever see. It’s reaching comical levels.

Overtime marched on, but it should have ended right there.
