San Jose Sharks rookie forward Tomas Hertl had a good amount of hype surrounding him coming into this season but nothing could have prepared the NHL for what the 19-year-old rookie did on Tuesday night against the Rangers.

The Sharks for the third straight game to open the season absolutely blitzed an opponent, led by Hertl. The rookie tied the franchise record with four goals with his mother and girlfriend in attendance from the Czech Republic. The real treat though, the cherry on top of the sundae, was Hertl's fourth goal of the night.

This is ... well just watch up above. Now let's watch it again and again from different angles (via @CJZero).

There was a belief by some that Hertl was going to be a Calder candidate because the fact that he's going to see a lot of time with guys like Joe Thornton this season but when you see THAT kind of skill, all you can do is shake your head in amazement.

Welcome to the NHL, Tomas Hertl.

By the way, the Sharks won the game 9-2 -- 9-2!!!
