The Texans, on the bye this week, plan to sign five players on Monday, following a series of roster moves last week, according to league sources. They released three rookies for violating league rules, released veteran linebacker Tim Dobbins and placed star linebacker Brian Cushing on IR.

Furthermore, running back Arian Foster is dealing with a hamstring injury, which, while considered minor, could keep him out another week, and backup Ben Tate broke four ribs and while he hopes to play in Week 9, his status will be in doubt as well.

With that in mind, the Texans will sign running back Deji Karim on Monday, according to league sources. They will also sign Dennis Johnson, who's been on the Browns practice squad, according to a league source. The Texans worked out several players last week and need reinforcements at linebacker, too.

In all, five players constitute roughly 10 percent of their roster, a very high figure for this portion of the season.
