On Sunday night the Indianapolis Colts attempted the worst play in the history of football. No hyperbole here: it was truly the nadir of the sport. Please find someone who thought it was smart.

Trailing by six points to the Patriots -- and very much in the game -- they motioned a bunch of guys to the right sideline with Griff Whalen under center and safety Colt Anderson behind him. 

Whalen inexplicably snapped the ball and was swarmed by Patriots defenders. It looked like Bill Belichick guessed the play in a game of Tecmo Super Bowl. 

Fortunately someone at The Cauldron was genius enough to recreate the play Tecmo Bowl-style, because the Internet is a beautiful monster.

As you can see, the Tecmo version was somehow more successful.
