On July 15, Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still and his daughter Leah Still will be honored by ESPN with the Jim Valvano Perseverance Award at the 2015 ESPYs for their determination in the face of cancer.

Still's daughter recently suffered a setback after a "serious complication" following a stem-cell procedure, but it's the first negative thing to occur in over a year for the pair. Still announced in late March that Leah was cancer free.

This is on the heels of a lengthy battle against the disease where she became a national rallying point, particularly in the NFL. Still was featured on Ellen and collected $10,000 in donations, she was honored during Sunday Night Football when the Patriots had their cheerleaders wear Bengals jerseys.

“The perseverance that Devon and Leah have shown throughout this unfortunate process is incredibly moving,” Connor Schell of ESPN said. “Each day that she fights, her father is by her side and their love and strength has captivated all of us in the sports world and beyond.”

Still also honored his daughter by getting a tattoo of her on his shoulder to commemorate the one-year anniversary of her cancer diagnosis.
