During the NFL offseason, Gillette Stadium isn't usually a crowded place on Sundays, but it could be crowded this Sunday because a group of Patriots fans are planning to hold a 'Free Tom Brady' rally in the stadium's parking lot.
Over 340 fans have already RSVP'd to the event, which is set for 11-1 p.m. ET on May 24.
According to the group's Facebook page, the plan is to hold "a peaceful rally to protest the unjust football arrest of half God half man Tom Brady."
Of course, if Brady were a half-God, you'd think he could do something about his suspension, but apparently things don't work like that and that's why the group has planned a rally.
The NFL announced on May 11 that Brady would be suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season for the part he played in Deflategate. Brady appealed the ruling on May 14, a move that was followed up by an NFLPA request to have Roger Goodell recused from the hearing.
Don't look for Goodell to recuse himself though. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported on Friday that Goodell has no plans to fulfill the NFLPA's recusal request.
As for Brady, Patriots fans from all over the country have been showing support for their beleaguered quarterback since the suspension was announced: A group of Brady supporters were arrested on May 12. Then there was the lady in Massachusetts who proclaimed in her obituary that Brady's innocent -- And let's not forget about the guy who started a petition calling for Patriots fans to boycott the NFL this year.
