It might be hard to believe, but Roger Goodell did actually talk about topics other than Deflategate at his press conference on Wednesday. Among the talking points was the topic of the NFL's expansion, both domestically and internationally.

Domestic expansion was mainly limited to the discussion of an NFL team heading to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, international expansion involved a discourse on three different places: Mexico, Brazil, and Germany.

But first, let's start with the possibility of an NFL team in LA, since that would actually involve a team relocating to the city. The three teams that could see a move to LA in its near future are the Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, and St. Louis Rams. Though all three teams could very well remain in their current cities, Goodell said there was "momentum" for a team in LA.

"I can't remember the last time we had two facilities that are actually entitled and are being developed. That's a very positive development, and there are actually even two more sites that have been entitled. But the two that we are focusing on are obviously the Carson site and the Inglewood site," Goodell said. "I think those are positive developments. But a lot more work has to be done."

Goodell hasn't yet reviewed the latest stadium proposal for San Diego. He called the progress made in St. Louis "tremendous." And the commissioner said he hasn't received any sort of information from the Raiders concerning a new stadium in Oakland, though he noted that Raiders owner Mark Davis "wants a long-term stadium solution" in Oakland.

"We don't have a deadline, but this is not a new issue we are all dealing with here," Goodell said regarding Oakland. "The Raiders have been working on a stadium for years. We do need to have a proposal from the people here about how they are going to keep the Raiders in Oakland."

As for the NFL's options abroad, Goodell spoke about potentially playing games in Mexico and Germany, in addition to maybe moving the Pro Bowl to Brazil for a year.

"There's a growing passion for our game on a global basis," Goodell said. "And we want to respond to it."

For now, these are just conversations, but it appears the potential is there for the NFL to become even bigger.
