Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas of the Cleveland Browns, who less than a month ago was talking openly about how Johnny Manziel "lost a lot of trust last year," is apparently quite pleased with the quarterback's new attitude and actions.

"The way he is now is night and day from last year," Thomas said Tuesday, according to NFL.com. "He has a bright future ahead of him."

"Last year, on a Saturday, you might see a picture of him on Instagram floating on a swan in a swimming pool, drinking champagne. This year, on a Saturday, if you came in the building, you'd see him studying his playbook and watching film with his coach," he continued. "It's pretty apparent he's realized how important football is to him. He's realized you can't get away with some of the things he did in college because it's a big boy's game now."

Thomas' about-face on Manziel comes shortly after cornerback Joe Haden also expressed similar feelings about Manziel's changed attitude and preparation habits this offseason. We detailed this story last week:

Haden relayed a story about how he was supposed to play pool at his house with Manziel at noon on Tuesday, but Manziel didn't show. Haden said he immediately called to see where Manziel was, but he only got Johnny Football's voicemail. Haden didn't receive a call back until three hours later. Bad sign, right? Wrong, according to Haden.

"He was like, 'No, I'm just leaving the facility now,''' Haden said. "Yesterday was the first day, and he stayed about three hours after we had to leave when the time was done. Actions speak a lot louder than words. He has a lot to show the people, but he's trying his best. I think he's got his mind right, and he's just ready to get it going.''

It's a good sign for Manziel that he's apparently getting his act together (in a football sense, in addition to having tended to his personal life by going through a rehab program to treat his alcohol addiction), but he'll have to keep this up throughout the offseason and the rest of his career if he wants to find success on the field.
