You want more evidence that Redskins coach Jay Gruden isn't so enamored with quarterback Robert Griffin III's skills?

Check out what he said Tuesday.

I'm not sure I've ever heard a coach subtly (and not-so-subtly) blast his quarterback more than Gruden vs. Griffin this season. But picking scabs like that probably won't please owner Daniel Snyder and general manager Bruce Allen if that duo decides to keep Griffin for 2015. In that case, you'd have to think Gruden would be fired.

Especially when he publicly says things like this.

"Robert had some fundamental flaws," Gruden said last month. "His footwork was below average. He took three-step drops when he should have taken five. He took a one-step drop when he should have taken three on a couple occasions and that can't happen. He stepped up when he didn't have to step up and stepped into pressure. He read the wrong side of the field a couple times. So from his basic performance just critiquing Robert, it was not even close to being good enough to what we expect from the quarterback position."

This isn't the first time a Redskins coach has publicly wondered about his quarterback's capability. You'll recall in 2004 that Joe Gibbs declined to use the shotgun formation because he wasn't comfortable installing it with his offensive line and quarterback Mark Brunell.
