Tom Brady and the Patriots host the Lions on Sunday in Foxborough. Fourteen years ago to the day, a 23-year-old Brady faced the Lions at the old Pontiac Silverdome in his NFL debut.
Brady finished 1 of 3 for 6 yards (tight end Rod Rutledge caught that first reception), and the Pats would lose 34-9. The loss dropped them to 3-9, and they would finish 5-11 on the season.
A year later, Brady would permanently replace Drew Bledsoe in the lineup, New England would go on to win the Super Bowl and the rest, as they say, is history.
