Alabama running back Derrick Henry has been in the mix for several of the game's biggest accolades here in the last weeks of the season, including Dennis Dodd's observation that the Crimson Tide back is running away with the Heisman Trophy.

Well, Henry's case for the stiff-arm got a little bit better with yet another impressive record for the résumé. On Saturday, Henry broke Herschel Walker's single-season SEC rushing record in the second half of Saturday's SEC Championship Game against Florida

Henry chewed up a good portion of the distance between him and the Georgia legend last week with 46 carries and 271 yards in the Tide's Iron Bowl win against Auburn. Florida did a good job of controlling Henry in the first half, but each run adds to the punishment that the nation's leading rusher (1,797 yards entering Saturday's game) can have on a defense.

Henry eclipsed 100 yards in the SEC title game, making him the only player in league history to accomplish that in two such contests.
