With Notre Dame preparing for Saturday's Senior Day game against Wake Forest, there have been some people wondering whether junior wide receiver Will Fuller will also be playing his final game in South Bend.

But Fuller says he won't be leaving until he's actually a senior in 2016.

Obviously Fuller's return would be huge for the Irish. He's having another terrific season for Notre Dame, with 44 catches for 900 yards and 12 touchdowns, using his speed to emerge as one of the most dangerous deep threats in the nation. To have a player of his caliber -- he's projected to be a first- or second-round pick were he to leave Notre Dame this spring -- return would be a boost to any team.

But I'm not sure how serious we should take Fuller's declaration. I'm sure he means what he says right now, but considering how much Notre Dame has left to play for this season, there's a chance he's letting his emotions speak for him at the moment.

Come the end of the season, when he's actually looking at millions of dollars, he may change his mind.

So while this is certainly the kind of thing Notre Dame would love to hear Fuller say, it's probably best to take it with a grain of salt. Plenty of players have changed their minds before.

Will Fuller has caught 27 touchdown passes the last two seasons. (USATSI)
