Alabama will take a trip to Athens this weekend to take on Georgia, and for the first time in 73 games, the Crimson Tide open a contest as underdogs.

Georgia checked in as a one-point favorite at the Westgate SuperBook and a two-point favorite on Covers. Normally, a higher-ranked team playing at home opening as a slight favorite wouldn't be a story. However, it shows a slight change in how the oddsmakers view the Crimson Tide.

Alabama hasn't been an underdog since the 2009 SEC Championship Game against Florida, when the Tide hammered the Gators 32-13 on their way to a national title. Since then, Alabama has been favored by oddsmakers in every game until now.

As the favorite in those games, Alabama has gone 37-34-1 against the spread (62-10 straight up). As of now, Alabama is the underdog; we'll have to wait and see if the public allows them to stay that was by the time we get to kickoff on Saturday.
