It's been over a week since National Signing Day but not every recruit has been officially signed. There's still the case of Roquan Smith, who held a press conference on signing day in which he chose UCLA but has still not signed a letter of intent for any school, nor will he at this juncture.

Before he makes his announcement on Friday, though, Smith talked to UGASports.com -- Georgia is one of the finalists for his services -- about the recruiting process at UCLA, including what happened on signing day to keep him from signing with the Bruins.

In the interview, Smith said that former UCLA defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich told him that he had been offered a coaching job with the Atlanta Falcons, but he'd declined it. On Wednesday, the same day Smith announced his commitment to UCLA, it was reported that Ulbrich was leaving for the job with the Falcons, and he has accepted the job since.

"[UCLA]'s a great school and all of this and that, but Coach Ulbrich did say that Coach Dan Quinn (of the Atlanta Falcons) had called him the night before, but he had declined the job offer," said Smith.

"I felt like Coach (Jim) Mora should have hit me up and said there's potential that Coach Ulbrich may be leaving. Then, they tried to get me to go ahead and send the papers in, but I wasn't doing it. They tried to get me to send them in at 8 in the morning. Doing a lot of research, which I should have done earlier in the process and thank goodness I had more time, they don't even have my major. I was going to major in business, and the only way to get into business school out there is to be in graduate school."

Smith also went on to say that he felt "kind of" misled about the whole business major aspect. He says UCLA knew that he wanted to major in business, and that he'd expressed this to the school, but the school never told them it was a graduate school major only.

"I thought they were keeping it real with me," said Smith. "But you know people are going to lie."

Smith says he'll "probably" send in his scholarship papers to the school of his choice on Friday, and that he knows which school it will be.

The four schools said to be in play for the four-star linebacker are Georgia, Michigan, Texas A&M and, yes, UCLA.
