Alabama has secured the No. 1 class in the country, according to the 247Sports.com Composite Rankings, in the 2015 recruiting cycle.

It was early in the afternoon on National Signing Day when 247Sports was able to crown Alabama the recruiting national champions for 2015, the fifth-straight year the Crimson Tide have held that honor. It feels like election night, and we (thanks to 247Sports) feel comfortable calling this race.

Heading into National Signing Day, there was a chance that USC could overtake the Tide with a few commitments from four and five-star prospects on Wednesday. But even with a few of the Trojans' targets uncommitted, it is impossible for Steve Sarkisian's staff to catch the Tide in the rankings.

According to the 247Sports Composite, which combines rankings from all the major recruiting services, Alabma has six five-star prospects in its 24-player class, including quarterback Blake Barnett, the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the country, who is already on campus as an early enrollee.

Alabama's 2015 recruiting haul grades out right in the middle of its previous four classes, better than the 2011 and 2012 classes but just below the groups from 2013 and 2014 according to the 247Sports formula.
