The Raleigh News and Observer reported Saturday that Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel is considering Duke as a potential landing spot if he elects to pursue a graduate transfer.

Citing a source, the paper reports Driskel "has sent a release to the Blue Devils, allowing them to contact him." Driskel is a redshirt junior with a single season of eligiblity remaining; as a graduate transfer, he would be immediately eligible for the 2015 season.

A former five-star recruit, Driskel led the Gators to an 11-2 record in 2012 but struggled with injuries, inconsistency and turnovers in 2013 and 2014, completing just 54 percent of his passes this past season while posting a 9-to-10 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Freshman Treon Harris was elevated to the starting quarterback position with five games remaining in the Gators' 2014 campaign.

Duke senior starting quarterback Anthony Boone will have exhausted his eligiblity following the Sun Bowl, leaving the Blue Devils' 2015 starting job up for grabs. Backups Thomas Sirk (a sophomore) and Parker Boehme (a freshman) combined for 16 attempts this season.
