Former Clemson quarterback Chad Kelly will take his second shot at FBS football at Ole Miss, he tweeted Wednesday.

Kelly was dismissed in April by Tigers coach Dabo Swinney for "a pattern of behavior that is not consistent with the values of our program." The then-redshrt sophomore reportedly had a confrontation with Clemson coaches and authorities during the Tigers' spring game.

That led to a JUCO detour at East Mississippi Community College for the 2014 season, where Kelly threw for 3,905 yards with 47 touchdowns and eight interceptions. After a Dec. 8 visit to Ole Miss, Kelly committed to the Rebels on Wednesday:

Kelly will have two seasons of eligiblity remaining and is expected to compete for the starting quarterback position vacated by the departing Bo Wallace, himself an EMCC transfer.

"I know Bo Wallace, he's a great quarterback and he happens to be leaving," Kelly told the Clarion-Ledger. "I have to go in there and fight for the job ... They're looking for a guy to come in right away, that's why you recruit a junior college quarterback."

Kelly is the nephew of Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly.
