Auburn signee Kalvaraz Bessent was arrested in Nassau County, Fla., Friday night and charged with a pair of marijuana-related felonies.

According to al.com and other reports, Nassau County sheriff Bill Leeper told the media that a vehicle was stopped for speeding at approximately 10 p.m. Friday. Leeper said the vehicle was searched after officers smelled marijuana, and four bags of the drug -- totaling more than 200 grams -- were located under the front passenger seat, where Bessent was seated.

With none of the four passengers of the vehicle claiming ownership of the drugs, all four were booked and face the same charges: possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute. Both charges are felonies.

Bessent posted bond of $5,506 and was released Saturday.

Per al.com, an Auburn official said Saturday that coach Gus Malzahn "is aware of the situation and is continuing to gather information."
