UConn erased any doubt of whether they will get in the NCAA tournament with a 77-62 win over Temple in the American Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals on Saturday.

Even though they will have a chance for a bad loss in the finale, the Huskies don’t have to worry about getting selected.

Not so much for Temple, despite being the league regular season champion.

When the bracket is updated, the Owls will be one of the last four teams in.

The last four teams in are now:

 Wichita State

 Temple

 Monmouth

 Syracuse.

The Owls fell to 8-10 against the top 200 teams in the RPI, and has a loss to East Carolina outside that group. An at-large berth is not a sure thing for the Owls, who will be among many teams sweating it out the next 24 hours.

Temple, could see its bid disappear if Memphis or Tulane wins the AAC automatic bid.

DOUBLE-BUBBLE GAME

UCONN 77, TEMPLE 62, AAC Tournament

UCONN
Status: Probably in
Record: 23-10 | RPI: 45 | Strength of schedule: 53

TEMPLE
Status: On the fence
Record: 21-11 | RPI: 59 | Strength of schedule: 81

OTHER BUBBLE TEAMS IN ACTION SATURDAY:

MICHIGAN: L 76-59 vs. Purdue, Big Ten Tournament
Status: On the fence
Record: 22-12 | RPI: 56 | Strength of schedule: 50

The Wolverines faced a matchup nightmare for them in the massive front line of Purdue, and go the expected result.  Michigan is out of the Big Ten tournament after a 76-59 loss to the Boilermakers.  It figures to be a nervous selection Sunday for Michigan as the Wolverines hope their 4-12 top 100 record is enough to merit selection.

VCU: W 76-54 vs. Davidson, Atlantic 10 Tournament
Status: Probably in
Record: 24-9 | RPI: 41 | Strength of schedule: 75

The Rams obliterated Davidson 76-54, which is their third win over the Wildcats this season.  VCU will take on Saint Joseph’s for the A-10 championship tomorrow, but probably doesn’t need the win to get into the field anymore.  The Rams are a lower half of the bracket team, at best, but there will likely be a spot for them win or lose.
