The NCAA has concluded its investigation into the Southern Miss men's basketball program and is expected to send a notice of allegations to the school at some point in the next week, a source told CBSSports.com on Wednesday.

Former USM coach Donnie Tyndall will be charged with rules violations.

That reality is what led to Tennessee firing Tyndall last March.

Tyndall left Southern Miss for Tennessee in April 2014.

Sources have told CBSSports.com the NCAA will allege violations involving improper benefits and academic misconduct happened on Tyndall's watch. Southern Miss and Tyndall will then have an opportunity to contest whatever allegations they'd like to answer. Then the NCAA will eventually levy penalties, probably at some point in 2016.

Doc Sadler is now the coach at Southern Miss.

Tyndall is unemployed -- though he did spend time working with the Raptors this summer.
