The Racine Journal-Times reports that one of the best value free agents on the market, versatile scoring wing Khris Middleton of the Milwaukee Bucks won't be available for long, as the Bucks are planning on closing on a deal to retain him in restricted free agency.

Free agency begins July 1 and, according to a person close to the scene, Khris Middleton won’t be a free agent for long and will reach a quick agreement to remain with the Bucks.

Middleton averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season, shooting 47 percent from the field and 41 percent from 3-point range. His role on the Bucks increased as the year went on, starting out missing from Jason Kidd's rotation but steadily increasing his minutes and production.

The 6-7, 215 lb. guard-forward turns just 24 this summer, and figured to be one of the best under-the-radar free agents available, but said earlier this month that he too wants to remain with the Bucks and their young core as it continues to grow under Jason Kidd. With Jabari Parker, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Khris Middleton, the Bucks are in great position for the future, and will have a decent pick this year to boot.
