Golden State entered the playoffs with a historically good point differential, which projects well as the identity of an eventual NBA champion. They have the MVP, the best defense in the league, the second-best offense in the league, a Coach of the Year candidate, two Defensive Player of the Year candidates, and a raucous, out-of-control home crowd.

So there's a lot of excitement in the Bay Area, including a little look ahead. SFGate.com reports that city officials have already started planning a parade for the Warriors.

Her latest challenge is to figure out what happens if the Warriors win the NBA title. Do they start the parade in Oakland and wind up in San Francisco? Does Oakland get shut out of a parade all together? Does San Francisco allow Oakland to have their parade as recognition for the team’s 44 years in the East Bay?According to a source, Schaaf has already talked to San Francisco mayor Ed Lee about what a parade would look like. One idea might be to begin the march in Oakland and then put the team on a barge to San Francisco.

It might seem presumptuous, but the city is so large and with the demand of it crossing two major metropolitan areas, you have to get an advance look at these things. After all, most people expected them to win the title entering the playoffs, and most likely still do even after their first home loss since January to the Memphis Grizzlies in Game Tuesday night. The Warriors are good, and their fans are very aware of this fact.

Including late 90's, early 00's rock band Papa Roach, who released this song in October, and on Tuesday, dedicated it to the Warriors before Game 2.

A parade route in Round 2 and a Papa Roach shout-out. Oh, well. I'm sure the basketball gods don't exist, anyway.
