Iman Shumpert takes rapping as serious as he takes basketball. So with the Cavs in need of an anthem for the playoffs, Shumpert sharpened his pencil and wrote down some rhymes that will inspire his team and fans.
In the anthem (called "The Offs"), Shumpert gives a shout out to each of his teammates and head coach David Blatt. Here's the breakdown:
Blatt - "Coach got that look in his eyes cause this playoffs."
Love - "And Kevin Love is open." (Perhaps his most unintentional hilarious rhyme.)
Kyrie Irving - "Off the ball screen with Uncle Drew."
Timofey Mozgov - "Watch your head for Mozzy."
Tristan Thompson - "Double T off the alley-oop."
J.R. Smith - "Late shot clock hit Swish up for the 9-1-1."
James Jones and Mike Miller - "Champ and Killah got the jury and the rachets on 'em."
Matthew Dellavedova - "Delly is the man."
Shawn Marion - "Trix get it crackin' on 'em."
Kendrick Perkins and Brendan Haywood - "Perk and Hay are the O.Gs."
Joe Harris - "Joe Joe for the three."
LeBron James - "It's so easy to get open when you run with the King."
Himself - "I'm one of the most wanted thieves in the league."
Anderson Varejao - "Andy is suited."
Shumpert's anthem is no Spuran Spuran but it is a valiant effot.
