Maybe it was facing old teammate Eric Bledsoe that put a little bit of an extra hop in his step or maybe it was just wanting to remind a national television audience that he's still one of the best players in the league. Whatever the reason was for Los Angeles Clippers' point guard Chris Paul to go off for 34 points, nine assists, five rebounds, four steals, and even a blocked shot, it was an incredible show for those who got to watch it.

As you can see from the video, Paul was just ruthless. He navigated the screens perfectly. He knew when he had space to fire away and he knew when to use them to shed his man so he could drive to the hoop. He had a nasty crossover against Bledsoe at one point that allowed him just enough time and room to get the high-arcing bucket off the glass. He had a couple of filthy in-and-out crossovers that were just kind of rude.

This one against Markieff Morris was just ridiculous:

Most of his damage came against Bledsoe, who is an excellent defender. This was Paul's big game of the preseason. He had been fairly quiet in prior games by his standards. He averaged 12.8 points, 8.6 assists, and 2.4 steals in 30 minutes over his previous five preseason games. Whatever reason Paul had for going off in this contest, it's much appreciated.

Bledsoe had a good game also, scoring 27 points on 12 shot attempts.

The Clippers won 108-105 as Blake Griffin put in 35 points of his own.
