More Draft: Mock drafts | Draft news

Sportando reported Thursday that Gran Canaria announced Thursday that Walter Tavares, thought to be a probable late-first/early-second round pick in next week's draft, has re-signed with the club on a three-year deal.

The move means that any club that signs him is likely looking at a substantial buyout to get him over, and it could be several seasons. Tavares is a 7-2 center who averaged six points and 4.5 points in 20 minutes per game in the ACB league.

It does hurt the depth at center in the second round which is wing heavy, though players like Mitch McGary and Patric Young remain likely to be available in the same approximate range. Tavares remains eligible to be drafted Thursday.
