Sunday afternoon, the Rangers clinched their first AL West title since 2011 with their win over the Angels (TEX 9, LAA 2). Texas did not take over sole possession of first place for good until September 15, with only 18 games remaining in the season.

The upstart Astros sat in first place for most of the season before fading down the stretch and falling behind the Rangers. While in first place, the Astros ran a "Come And Take It" campaign during the summer. Here's an example:

Hey, if you're going to run a campaign like "Come And Take It," you're asking to be mocked if someone, you know, comes and takes it. The Rangers won the division fair and square. They took it.

On the bright side, the Astros are still going to the postseason. They clinched the second wild-card spot Sunday. Perhaps the Astros and Rangers will meet in the ALCS.
