This past offseason the Yankees spent big on a top free agent reliever, but rather than re-sign incumbent closer David Robertson, they signed Andrew Miller to a four-year, $36 million contract. They saved $10 million and gained a draft pick by replacing Miller with Robertson.

Miller has been stellar in pinstripes, going 8-for-8 in save chances with 20 strikeouts in only 11 1/3 innings so far this year. He's yet to allow a run. Miller had never been a closer before but he's stepped into the ninth inning and replaced Robertson seamlessly.

Despite his sudden rise to Yankees fame -- and that $36 million contract, which can buy some really fancy cars -- Miller opts to take the subway to Yankee Stadium like regular folks. A reddit user who goes by Game_Two recently ran into Miller on the 4 train on the way home from a game. Here's the photo evidence:

Game_Two says they chatted for 10 minutes, and he made sure to tell Miller he drafted him in fantasy because he expected the lefty to get the closer's job over Dellin Betances.

Most Yankees players live in the suburbs, away from the chaos of New York City, but I guess Miller is different. Not many players would opt to take mass transit to the ballpark these days.
