Derek Jeter played his final game at Yankee Stadium on Thursday night, and, needless to say, it was a very emotional night for the Yankees captain. Cameras caught him fighting back tears several times as fans showered him with "Der-Ek Je-Ter!" chants all night.

Because baseball is just amazing, Jeter laced a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Yankees a 6-5 victory against the Orioles. You couldn't script this any better:

Inside-out single to right field. Jeter has about 3,000 of those on his résumé.

Storybook ending. What an amazing moment.
