Here's who had Steven Bowditch getting his second PGA Tour win this week at his (sort of) hometown Byron Nelson:

Yep, that's everybody.

Bowditch, who won the 2014 Texas Open and lives near Dallas, came scorching into the Nelson with one top 10 (in October) and nine missed cuts in his past 13 events on the PGA Tour season. So of course he went out and won by four strokes over Charley Hoffman, Jimmy Walker and Scott Pinckney.

After bogeys at two of his first three holes, Bowditch came flying home with birdies at six of his final 13, including two of his last three to win going away with a final-round 64.

If you're not familiar with the Bowditch story, it's a good one. The Australian-turned-Texan has battled depression for years and once contemplated suicide. His journey out of the bowels of his own head has been even more heroic than his golf over the past 18 months.

Bowditch also got married on the 18th green at the TPC Four Seasons, where he won more than $1 million Sunday afternoon. A couple of pretty great memories for somebody who has one of the great human tales of modern golf.

Our grades for the Byron Nelson

Jordan Spieth: B-

This tournament will always be difficult for Jordan Spieth to win no matter what he says otherwise. The layout and the pressure he gets from having to play part hometown hero and part host are excruciating. 

Still, it's his best finish here since he was 16 years old.

Finish: T30

Dustin Johnson: A

I thought DJ was going to roll all the way home Sunday but a quadruple-bogey eight on the sixth was his undoing. As is often the case in sports, Johnsons's greatest strength (his ability to not care at all about anything) doubles as his greatest weakness.

Still, he remains one of the great shows in all of golf.

Finish: T-8

Brandt Snedeker: A

Good to see Sneds involved for the second straight week. If the next three majors weren't a combined 25,000 yards (approximately) I would look for him to make some noise.

His 22 birdies this week were fourth-most of anyone in the field.

Finish: T-6

Jason Dufner: B

Speaking of folks who haven't been involved in a while, Jason Dufner is at the top of that list. The former Nelson winner took his first top 10 of the calendar year after going 65-64-66 over the final three days here.

Other notes

• I followed Spieth around for seven holes Sunday afternoon. He was the real winner of this tournament, no matter what the trophy says.

• Johnson pulling 3-wood on No. 18 and out-pumping a jacked up Bowditch as well as Scott Pinckney was the funniest moment of the week for me. There are no adequate words for his length.

• A Nick Watney top 10, eh? Hasn't happened since February.

• I can confirm the food is elite.

• Scott Pinckney is a character. This is a thing he tweeted recently.

• 

Also, he can play some golf.

• I'm not really a fan of this course, but the grounds crew deserves a spot in the grounds crew hall of fame (if there is one) for getting this track ready after the Biblical rains Dallas has received over the past week.

• Odds DJ and Anthony Kim hung out this weekend?
