Few folks in golf are better connected than Golf World's Tim Rosaforte. When he says Tiger Woods will play in the 2015 Masters, it holds some weight.

Here's what Rosaforte said in Golf World on Monday:

"I think Tiger Woods is going to play the Masters. I also think you'll see him take a trip to Augusta National this week where he can practice in solitude without a camera on him.

"I base this not only on Notah Begay's 50-50 prediction that got so much traction, but by some of the scores he's been posting and the improvement he's shown over the past two weeks up at Medalist Golf Club. Friends in Palm Beach are also saying 'Tiger's got the edge back.'"

The "50-50 prediction" Rosaforte is referencing is a report by Begay on how much Woods has improved of late and what he expects Woods to do for Augusta.

Also, I'm not sure what "got the edge back" means. Is he torching 4-handicaps at Medalist for a couple hundred bucks? Dropping F-bombs all over the course? Out-putting his kids?

He can have as much edge as he wants. If he can't chip, it doesn't matter.

I wrote recently that he wouldn't play. The Begay report and this one by Rosaforte have me waffling, as does the fact that I cannot fathom a healthy Woods skipping a Masters before turning 40.

Even though Woods can technically wait until the 11th hour to decide about the tournament, I would expect a decision from him early this week.
